High Frequency Shielding

Shielding from all radiation transmitting devices, DECT, Bluetooth, WIFI

High Frequency shielding can be done using shielding fabric, mostly curtain style, in some cases fabric to cover walls which ideally will be mounted invisible. Shielding paint can be used on all non-see-through surfaces, mostly walls, sometimes doors and shutters.

Curtain style shielding fabric comes at a cost of roughly €50,- / m2, give or take € 10,-, depending on the quality and aesthetic appeal. Wall covering fabric will cost about € 15,- / m2, in rare cases it can be used for windows as well.

Shielding paint (best quality) goes at about € 250,- for 5 litres.

The shielding paint is very high in Carbon content making it as black as black gets; 2 or 3 coats should be enough in any situation, covered by 3 coats of the final paint in a more pleasing colour. It needs some knowledge and common sense to make it electrically safe. It’s not really a DIY product because of this aspect.

Temporary shielding of routers etc. is possible using some form of metal sheet; aluminium or zinc work very well. It needs measuring to find the best way of avoiding radiation in some directions. Hardwiring the devices has our preference, some situations require a permanent WIFI connection, as per the clients needs.

In all cases a careful assessment of the situation needs to be made, in order to avoid creating hotspots. We use 2 different HF meters to be sure to cover both old and new technology. Normally it requires two and in rare cases three visits to get it all right. During the first application the most obvious offenders are neutralised, in the second run the not so obvious problems will surface; sometimes some devices that the client has forgotten about, sometimes impact from neighbours or some reflections that were impossible to measure in the first run.

All in all HF shielding is not rocket science, 90 to 95 % improvement is fairly quickly achieved. The last 5 to 10 % on average are as expensive as the first 90%. For most people a 90% improvement will create a healthy home for all practical purposes. If the client starts a more rigorous fitness regime with the increased vitality, all health issues should be well on their way of being eliminated.

The shielding fabric has some form of metal wiring incorporated in the threats; sometimes aluminium, in the more expensive fabrics copper with a silver coating.
